[ she huffs. everything about this is astringent to an open wound. ]

Luci and I had some stuff left in Hades. Up in our room where the water didn't get. Not a lot just... not the costumes, just night shirts, mostly.

[ there's a twinge of irrational guilt over hades, just for her proximity to what happened. ]

I'll... see what I can do. Might ask Steph to come with me? Nico's... done a good job with the place, if you haven't seen it.

I know. I trust him. But I just can't go back there.

[ She bites her lip, looks away from the camera. Laura had been upset when it happened, of course. Not upset at Cassandra, sure, but sacrificing the home she'd built had sent her back into a then-familiar funk of mourning. Whatever is going on inside her head now is something different: a sort of shame and self-doubt that Laura'd never had when acting as Persephone. This isn't like taking a new knife to an old scar; this wound is open and infected. ]

I don't want to see it.

[ she looks a little concerned, but. she leaves it alone. she can guess at what's happening here. ]

That's okay too. [ it's a gentle reassurance. not out of any effort to treat laura with kid gloves, just... making sure she knows that cass will meet her where she's at. ]

I think Oracle still... wants to meet you.

[ And bless Cassandra for meeting her. It's nice to have that much stability when everything else feels like so much freefall. ]

That's... a word for it. Knew her before I knew him.

[ Times like these, Laura remembers just how little she knows about what made Cassandra become Cassandra. There are important things she knows, but many only in the abstract. ]

She's a lot easier than Bruce. If that helps anything?

[ Laura is perhaps unreasonably fond of the man, but this is likely due to spending a great deal of time getting high off other peoples' sadness and no time actually following his orders. ]

But I know what you mean. If Oracle wants to meet me [read: "if you want Oracle to meet me" ] then let's meet.

She does. Has for a while? I think it'd be... good.

[ "good" would be asking for a lot, but she is willing to try. the soft curve of her lips isn't forced, certainly, but she does still have to do it intentionally. Making the choice to be willing, even when avoidance and inaction feels more comfortable. ]
